Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
-Matthew 6:19-21
Tonight as i was reminded of this verse when i prayed with a brother, i cried. Somehow God just encouraged me that nothing can be in vain when it is placed in his hands. If you sow faithfulness, you will reap faithfulness. And even if you are faithless, He will still remain faithful.
Newspapers these few weeks have so many business commentaries and comments about the economic meltdown. Everyone have something to say. In honesty, i was swarmed and overwhelmed with all the explanations and suggestions to move forward. Yet God's word summarizes it so well for me: Your heart follows your money. Financial planning and investing is very important to christians and non-christians alike. But when all is said and done, how much did you contribute to God's kingdom? In terms of your talents and money probably? For my non-believing friends, how does the learning and understanding of investing made your life more meaningful and purposeful? Does it contribute to any good other than personal financial freedom?
I was tempted these 2 days to go into pity-party mode about some stuff. But i thank God for answering my little prayer during LTS to pray for the offering. Haha, that encourages me somewhat. I also thank God that He has helped me to be trustworthy, even though by nature im not a very reliable person(eh, Jacob is a deceiver le). When (cca) people tell me they trust that i will return them the money i owed, even though it is taking years, i appreciate that. And i know it's not because im good, haha cos im very not. But i believe it is God's training over the years with what little i got.
Lord, thanks. And help me to be greatful always.
