God's the boss

Beyond being just an avenue to express myself better, it is my prayer that this blog can be a blessing to whoever reads it. Well, i mean, tertiary students like myself are at a level where they can formulate their opinions easily, which is good. I enjoy SMU life cause there are so many thinkers/speakers that are better than me. Contrary to feeling inadequate or inferior, i enjoy learning from all my friends. However, the world don't need your opinions; they need to know that there is a God who loves them and gives them a purpose. In terms of propagating that latter message i must confess im quite poor.

So Lord, i consecrate this blog to you. Let it not just be a place for me to voice my opinions on whatever issues, but be an avenue where people are truly encouraged and inspired to live for you.

Pastor mentioned during evening service that the greatest challenge facing christians these days are not the persecution of their faith, but rather the dilution of our faith. How true! We are challenged in many areas to lower our standards as christians, and such influences can be so subtle. Think we really need to learn to humble ourselves on a daily basis.

On a sidenote, Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs, the last 2 pure investment banks left standing, came under the Fed Reserve this morning. With this move, the investment banking model has been effectively scraped in US (at least for the forseeable future la). This is an attempt to prevent the demise of their good pals like Leh B, Merrill L and Bear S. Wow, this is exciting times for those who are looking to carve out a career in the financial sector man. Not that im gloating at these banks, but i mean its exciting that we are witnessing history unfolding before our very eyes.

Okay, got to study liao
